Jacqueline Moore Adair

Jacqueline Moore Adair, 90, of Eatonton, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Eatonton Health and Rehabilitation Facility. She lived most of her life in the Atlanta, GA area. She was born to the late Lee Deforrest and Elsie Louise Burroughs Moore, June 14, 1923 in Atlanta, GA. Jacqueline graduated from Girls High School in Atlanta, GA. She married the late Wendell Hinton Adair, Sr. in 1942 and they lived in Ft. Gaines, GA. before relocating to Atlanta, GA in 1959. They spent a few years in Dallas, TX where they enjoyed the close proximity of her cousin, Delores Barker and her husband. They retired to Morrow, GA to be close to Jackie's sisters and their families. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 25, from 5-7 at Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 26 at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta at 11AM, officiated by Dr. Candy Thacker of Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wendell Hinton Adair, Jr. and Monica of Sawyer, MI, son and daughter-in-law, David Anthony Adair and Edie of Eatonton, GA.; and daughter and son-in-law, Leeta Juanita Adair Poston and RL of Mobile, AL. She also is survived by 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, and her cousin Delores. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, 2 sisters and 2 brothers-in law and 1 brother. She was extremely close to her sisters, Juanita and Joyce, and enjoyed traveling with them and their husbands to many exciting places in the United States and outside the US. She also loved playing bridge and gardening and was an active supporter of the Scouts when her sons were younger. She taught Sunday School for many years at the Methodist Church in Ft. Gaines, GA. In her later years, she was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed cross stitching and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and will be missed by all.
