Steve Allison

Steven Craig Allison, 65, was received into the arms of Jesus on June 18th, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a wonderful and loyal friend to all who knew him. Steve was born March 21, 1956 in Oak Lawn, Illinois to Junior and Eloise Zimmerman Allison. The family moved to Putnam County in 1968 when Steve was 12 years old. He graduated from Putnam County High School in 1974 and immediately went to work for Georgia Power. He retired from and spent most of his career at Plant Branch as an operator. He was best known for his sweet and gentle spirit, his sense of humor, his love for his family, and his vast knowledge of firearms. Steve was born with a natural gift of music. He had a passion for traditional country/western music and could play just about any string instrument that was placed in front of him – his favorite being the pedal steel guitar. He sure could make that thing sing. Steve spent most of his life making music on the weekends where he played with various talented musicians while building lifelong friendships. Steve also enjoyed riding the countryside on his motorcycle or in his Jeep. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Church. Steve’s memory will be kept alive by his wife, Paula Patton Allison; his children Carla Dabbs (Neal) of Milledgeville, Haley Fordham (Andy) of Eatonton, stepdaughter Amber James (Josh) of Eatonton, stepson William Sharpton (Keith) of North Carolina; his 7 grandchildren, Raina Collins, Brooklyn Collins, Camryn Fordham, Leland Fordham, Landon James, Samantha James, and Jessica James; his niece and nephew; and his beloved dog and best friend, Hank. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville on Tuesday June 22nd from 5 to 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at 2pm, in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Paul Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens where Steve’s mother, father, and brother (Bruce Allison) are laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Judes or Shriners Hospital.
