Cherry Lavender

Mrs. Cherry Lee Avant Lavender, age 88, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11 AM in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Saturday from 10AM until 11AM. Mrs. Lavender was a native of Sandersville and had made her home in Milledgeville. She was the daughter of the late Horace B. Avant and Bertie Chambers Avant and was preceded in death by her husband, John Carris Lavender, Sr. , a brother, Horace “Buddy” Avant, Jr.; and a son in law, Dwight Riddle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milledgeville. Survivors include her daughters - Debbie (Sandy) Dempster of Bonaire, Susan (Danny) Weeks of Valdosta, Lori (Dwight) Riddle of Milledgeville; son - John Carris Lavender, Jr. of Macon; grandchildren Lex Dempster, Lee Dempster (Summer), Leslie New (Corey), and Jason Riddle; and 6 great grandchildren . For those who wish the family has requested expressions of sympathy to the First Baptist Church of Milledgeville, Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta; or to the Lion’s Club.
