Edna Evalea Brady Groves--Obituary Born: November 21, 1931, Braxton County, WV Died: September 3, 2024, Milledgeville, Baldwin County, GA Funeral services for Mrs. Evalea Brady Groves age 92 will be conducted Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11 AM in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Interment will be private in Glen Haven Cemetery in Macon, GA. Mrs. Groves was a native of West Virginia and had moved with her family from Richwood, WV in late 1948 or early 1949 to Macon, GA as a teenager where she graduated from Miller High School. Her father had a house built in 1949 at 1587 Burton Avenue, Macon, GA. At some point Evalea went to work at Warner Robins Air Force Base where she was working when she married. Evalea married Shirley Donald Groves, whom she had known in Richwood, Nicholas County, WV, Dec 23, 1955 at her parents residence on Burton Avenue in Macon. After marriage she and Donald lived in Milan, OH where he was living working for General Motors when they married. They later lived in Sandusky, OH for several years until they moved back to Macon. Evalea and Donald also lived in Warner Robins for a number of years where she worked at Warner Robins Air Force Base until Donald got a job on a large construction job in the Milledgeville area and they moved to the Lake Sinclair area at 220 Little River Trail, Eatonton, GA, where they became members of Friendship Baptist Church on Lake Sinclair. Donald was severely injured on his construction job and was confined to a wheelchair for several years. Evalea commuted to work at Warner Robins Air Force Base until she retired. Survivors are brother-in-law, Charles McMurry and his children Derek M. McMurry; Suzanne M. Hartzell; Russell D. McMurry and their spouses and children. Also many church members who loved her and had been her care takers. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Brady and Ruth Belle Exline Brady, her husband, Donald Groves; her older brother James Franklin Brady; her younger brother, Carmel Eugene “Gene” Brady and sister, Waneta Margarette Brady McMurry; sister in law Peggy Chance Brady; nephew Lynn Brady; and nephew Stephen Craig McMurry.
