Jimmy Lee Brooks Sr.

August 5, 1950 - February 8, 2022

Jimmy Lee Brooks Sr. of Milledgeville, Georgia passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022 at the age of 71. While some retirees spend their time on the golf course or playing bingo, Jimmy spent his golden years giving back to the community in any way he could. Jimmy could entertain people for hours with stories about his time working as a Police Officer at Central State Hospital as well as working as a volunteer firefighter at the fire department. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Jimmy during his 71 years of life. He will be greatly missed for his unique sense of humor and immense care for others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Brooks and Mary Connell Brooks; brother Charlie, sisters, Nell, Loretta, and Geneva. He is survived by his wife, Bettie Favors Brooks; sons, Jimmy Lee Brooks, Jr. of Milledgeville, Edward Scott Brooks (Kari) of Lizella; sisters, Claudette Dubay (Bob) of Milledgeville, Gertrude Lewis of Sparta, Jeanette Williamson of Yatesville; grandchildren, Zaleigh Brooks (Noah) of Milledgeville, Jarred Brooks of Byron, David Brooks of Milledgeville, Cierra Brooks of Lizella; great grandchild Bentley O'Neal of Milledgeville. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 11 AM in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville with visitation from 10 AM until 11 AM. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
