John Wilford Shock, age 81, of Milledgeville, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018. A native of Columbia, MO, he was the son of the late Wilford Shock and the late Mrs. Mary Brown Shock. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a Brother-in-law, Tom Howard, and by an Aunt, Catherine Brown. Mr. Shock was self-employed as a furniture and cabinet maker, and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year Mason, and a member of Macon Lodge #5, F& AM. Mr. Shock is survived by: His wife of 55 years, Rachel Shock of Milledgeville ; 1 Step-Daughter, Virginia (& Herman) Wharton of Oxford, PA ; 2 Sisters, Johanna Howard and Abbie Bonham, both of Columbia, MO ; 2 Grandsons, Alexander and Zachary Wharton ; Special Niece and Nephew, Ade & Brian Adams ; 9 Nieces and Nephews ; and a "Special Son", Rob (& Kristin) Freeman of Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services for Mr. John Wilford Shock will be Private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to: The Masonic Children's Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211, or to The Chard Wray Food Pantry, 730 North Wayne Street, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
