Leonard Queen Sr.

November 6, 1943 - September 23, 2019

Mr. Leonard Harry Queen, Sr., 75, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM on Monday, September 30, 2019 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville with Rev. Mac Enfinger officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 PM until the service hour. Dr. Queen was a native of Charleston, SC and had made his home in Sparta since 1992. He was the son of the late Horace Lorenzo and Margie Nell Edwards Queen and was preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Wofford and Debra Gilham. Leonard received his Juris Doctorate degree and PhD from Walter F. George School of Law. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam, a member of Milledgeville First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Irwinton Masonic Lodge #150. He is survived by his wife Susan Harris Queen of Sparta, daughters, Maura Elizabeth Queen Robbins (Thomas) of Milledgeville, Amelia Caroline Queen King (Conner) of Atlanta, Eleanor Susanne Queen Kennedy (Trenton) of Gainesville; sons, Leonard Harry Queen, Jr. (Vicki) of Canton, Timothy Floyd Queen of Douglasville, Richard Tenney Spofford (Sarah) of Tocoma, WA, Michael Aaron Queen (Leah) of Dublin, Leonard Isaac Ross Queen, Sr. of Germany, Bekk Edgar Queen of Sparta, and Samuel Patrick Queen of Sparta; sisters, Frances Queen Morgan (Bill) of Douglas Co., and Gail Queen McGraw (Kelly) of Hiram; brothers-in law, Ray Wofford and Robert Gilham; and 12 grandchildren. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516; or the Animal Rescue Foundation, PO Box 1032, Milledgeville, GA 31059.
