Mrs. Brown was a native of Macon, GA and had made her home in Milledgeville for the past 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Aubrey and Ollie Marie Scarborough Boatright and preceded in death by son, Robby Brown. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Nancy was a true Southern Lady. Her generosity and kind spirit were always on the forefront of everything she did. Whether she was hosting family dinners, supper club, card groups, or some other social function, she did it with attention to detail, with grace and style, and always made it appear effortless and fun for everyone in attendance. Bobby was the love of her life - something they both knew from their first meeting. It would be a love that would continue to grow and mature for more than 40 years. “Bobby-n-Nancy” was truly one word - they were a team. They used their respective talents to further their common goals, to support their blended family, to support their church, to spend quality time with each other, their family and their friends, and to actively participate in organizations that benefitted the entire community. Her daughters, Daphne and Traci, were her best friends. The three of them virtually grew up together. Phone calls and texts occurred daily if not hourly - sharing news and laughter. Shopping trips, dinners together, and family vacations were a top priority that were always looked forward to and enjoyed by all. But her favorite role was that of being Nana. She relished spending time with her precious grandchildren and instilled in them the love and support that each will carry with them throughout their lives. She made sure each knew how special they were to her - she was always their biggest cheerleader! Nancy was a woman with many talents. She prided herself on her homes (we are not saying how many), which were always impeccably designed - capturing both elegance and charm. She had an eye for perfection and would not sleep until she was satisfied with just the right color, accessory, furnishing, or dish cloth... Speaking of fun, just ask anyone who has ever been with her during either of her two favorite pastimes - shopping and traveling. She had fun intentionally! Perhaps Nancy’s most extraordinary trait was her ability to make everyone feel like a family member or a best friend. It is through the expression of this trait that she nurtured and grew so many lasting friendships. Nancy’s smile and beautiful green eyes lit up every room she entered. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by Everyone that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bobby Brown; children, Daphne (Dale) Epps, Traci (Jason) Medders all of Milledgeville, and Randy (Amanda) Brown of Forsyth; grandchildren, Will Epps, Jesse Epps, Lane Medders, Aubri Medders, Troy Brown, Turner Brown, Madison Brown, and Dalton Brown; and brother, Larry Boatright. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or to John Milledge Academy.
