Susan Rogers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Susan Knoef Rogers age 74 passed away on June 17,2022. Arrangements will be announced later. Susan Rae Rogers was born Susan Rae Knoef on February 2, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to Dorothy Louise Dustman and Raymond John Knoef, Jr. She was the oldest of four children. She and her three brothers, Brian, David, and Kevin lived with their parents in Dayton, Ohio. Susan graduated from Colonel White High School and went on to DePauw University in Indiana. After DePauw, she attended the University of Tennesee's Graduate Program in Psychology before moving to Georgia and becoming the first female felony probation officer in the state. While working as a probation officer, Susan met her future husband, Wayne Rogers. After getting married, they both attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. After a time in her own criminal defense private practice, she started working for Central State Hospital where she worked for over 30 years as the Director of Legal and Special Services. While working for Central State Hospital, she was also able to be the most incredible mom to Lucas Rogers and Stephanie Neal. She welcomed six grandchildren into the world and loved them with her whole heart. After retiring, she dedicated her life to the passionate love of her grandchildren. She and Wayne traveled all over the country in their RV including multiple cross country trips to California. Over the last few months, Susan and Wayne moved up to Cumming, Georgia to be closer to her daughter, Stephanie and her grandkids. Her family already misses her terribly and will always long for her unconditional love.
