Woodrow Wilson “Woody” Cox, Jr. age 86, of Putnam County, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Graveside services for Woodrow “Woody” Cox will be conducted on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11: 00 AM in The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville with Rev. Milton Wood officiating. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 9:30am until 10:30am. A native of Wadley, GA, Woody was born on March 21, 1936 to the late Woodrow Wilson Cox, Sr. and the late Addie Belle Rachels Cox. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Cox, and also by a brother, Charles Williams. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and had worked as an Electrician for the Armstrong Corporation for over 40 years. Woody was a Pilot,and enjoyed flying airplanes. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Putnam County. Woody is survived by his wife, Helga Saffran Cox ; his daughter, Karen (& Barry) Helms of Eatonton ; his sons, Thomas (& Carmen) Cox of South Carolina, and John (& Dawn) Cox of Stockbridge ; 2 brothers, Joe Cox (Gwen(and Richard Williams(Mesha) ; Grandchildren, Jennifer (& Jonathan), Dustin, Jessica (& Alex), Broc (& Brittany), and Garrett ; and 9 Great Grandchildren ; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
