Barbara Allen

Barbara Klix Allen, born June 6, 1938, aged 87, passed away on February 1, 2026 in Athens, Ga after a brief illness. Barbara was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland, the second of five children and oldest daughter. She enjoyed life and all the challenges that came with being a mother of seven very active children and a full-time worker. Barbara was all about family and celebrating family. Her house became the meeting place at Thanksgiving for all her siblings, nephews, nieces, children, and “extended family”. If anyone that was a friend of hers or a extended family member or a friend of a friend was passing through the area, the door was always open, and the table was always set. No one was a stranger. Love, Life, and Laughter were the theme of the Allen household. Barbara retired from the workforce in her early 60s and moved from Atlanta to Lake Sinclair in Eatonton, GA, in 2000 into the lake house that Bobby built. She was always a caregiver to anyone going through a rough spell and offered wonderful guidance and life’s insights. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. (Bobby) Allen, Sr. and her grandson (Bryan). She is survived by her seven children, William F. Conlon II, Michael K. Conlon (Vicki), Robert B. Allen, Jr. (Lisa), Barbara C. Gray (Mike), Martha V. Allen, Mary C. Hill (Rick), and Thomas H. Conlon (Mia). Her and Robert’s generous hearts and desire to nurture led to the late additions of two individuals they claimed as children also, Gregory M. Bonner (Scotty), and Jorge A. Ibarra (Kristy). In addition to her “children”, she is survived by 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by two younger sisters (Loretta/Donna), and one younger brother (Henry). The family will hold a visitation at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville on Saturday February 7, 2026 at 10:00 am followed by services at 11:00 am. On May 16, 2026 at 11:00 am a formal mass funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milledgeville followed by a grave side service at Heritage Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her name to your favorite charity or to Wounded Warriors Project.
