Buryl Teague

It is with great sadness that we announce Buryl Teague, age 86 of Milledgeville, Georgia, passed away on March 19, 2024. He was born in White Oak, Campbell County, Tennessee to Rev. Silas and Mrs. Ruby Teague. Buryl was the second son of four children. His family moved to Ohio when he was a teenager but he always loved the mountains of Tennessee. He married Mildred R. Cox on June 14, 1956. They had three children, twins Steven and Michelle and Tamela (Tammy). He moved his family to Georgia in the early 1970’s for work. Buryl was a hard worker and had a good work ethic. For a time he worked as a contract painter. He retired from DayMark where he worked as a truck driver for many years. Buryl was a member of Manley Memorial Baptist Church, currently Lake Country Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School. He loved springtime weather, flowers, gardening, country music, being on the lake and watching baseball. One could say his other hobby was talking! He always had a contagious smile, was a very positive person and never met a stranger. Buryl was adored by his family and loved by friends and neighbors. Buryl loved to drive and travel in the U.S. and he was very patriotic. He enjoyed spending time with his favorite people most of all. Buryl is survived by his children Steven (Tangye) Teague, Michelle (Kenneth) Brown and Tammy (Errol) Correa, and his grandchildren Jessica Castillo, Caleb Teague, Caitlin Correa, Juliana Correa, Anna (Nathan) Costin, Clay Brown and great-grandchildren Reagan Teague, Eleanor “Nellie” Costin, Rosalie Costin and Ruby Jean Teague. His great-grandchildren never got to know “Papaw” however, they will know of him for his legacy lives on as he was greatly loved by their families. Also surviving him is his brother Earl (Charlotte Ann) Teague, Harriett (Michael) Nolder as well as a niece, nephews and their children whom he also loved dearly. Buryl was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Silas and Mrs. Ruby Teague, his wife Pat (Smith) Teague, and his wife of 25 years and mother of his children, Mildred R. Teague, as well as his brother-in-law Ron Shafto and sister Rosa Charlotte Shafto. There will be a memorial service with family and close friends on April 6th at a private residence in Milledgeville and a favorite place for Buryl and his family to spend time together. There will be a second memorial service with extended family and friends in Ohio on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Berkley Square Pavillion, 100 Berkley Drive, Hamilton, Ohio, at 11:00 A.M.
