Cenon Ibanez, Jr. Cenon Ibanez, Jr., age 77, went home to be with our Lord, Jesus, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Jun, as he is known to many, was born on April 1, 1948 to the late Cenon Ibanez, Sr. and Paciencia Carbonell Ibanez. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, Lolo, uncle, brother, and friend. He was a beacon of light and goodness for all. He had an extraordinary gift of making everyone feel special and loved, and he had the ability to see the good in everyone. His boundless generosity and genuine kindness were simply part of who he was. “To know him was to love him.” Having been supported in college by his siblings, Jun learned the value of family, hard work, and determination. He graduated college with a degree in commerce and became a successful manager. In 1987, he left a comfortable life in Davao City, Philippines and moved with his wife and children to Milledgeville, GA USA for better opportunities. Jun loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, after retiring from manufacturing companies and from his business ventures, including balikbayan boxes. He continued to live the American dream by delighting in the success of his children and grandchildren. He kept busy in retirement by gardening and sharing his harvest with others. Jun was a devout Catholic. He went to Mass frequently, participated in adoration of the Eucharist, prayed the Rosary, and studied his Bible. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milledgeville, GA, and also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels. He was selfless and always had an infectious smile to all he met, being a friend to everyone. With our hope in Christ, we pray Jun continues to smile at us from heaven. Jun is preceded in death by three sisters; Luviminda Gotidoc, Crestita Ibanez, and Josefina Bangis. He is survived by his wife, Ester Ibabao Ibanez, his 4 children and 7 grandchildren; his daughters, Aileen Ibanez-Wong (Tristram) (Skyler and Dayson) of Macon; Reena Ibanez Hicks (LeMeigo Sr.) (LeMeigo Jr. and Lekoleon) of Lizella; Rizza Bella Hohenstern (Joseph) of Atlanta; and his son, Conrad Ibanez (Monica) (Anthony, Elijah, and Juliana)of Atlanta; his two brothers, Sesenando Ibanez and Rolando Ibanez of the Philippines, and by other family and friends both in the U.S. and abroad. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Cenon Ibanez, Jr., on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milledgeville, GA.
