Frank Folsom

Funeral Services for Mr. Marion Franklin "Frank" Folsom age 70 will be conducted on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 1PM in Victory Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6PM- 8PM. Mr. Folsom went to Glory on April 21, 2018. Born in Booneville, IN to Arvel and Emma Folsom, he worked on the family farm, loved basketball, baseball, football, hunting and 4H. A true patriot, he joined in the US Air Force. He welcomed his daughter, Lori in 1968. They settled in Georgia where he fell in love with Diane and her 3 children, Shona, Tammy and Angie. Frank was an excellent mechanic and worked for Overnight Transportation and Southeastern Freight Lines in Atlanta and Macon. He and Diane moved to Lake Sinclair where they established Motor Masters Marine Repair and ran Open Door Thrift Store Ministry. He shared his wisdom and talents with many in life and at Central Georgia Technical College. Frank loved his family and God. His life was truly transformed by the cross. He was known as the “Preaching Deacon”, a Song Leader, Sunday School teacher and “AMEN” supporter at Victory Baptist Church. His mottos were “If you see a need, do the deed”, “Open your mouth and let Jesus come out” and “God will make a way”. He was most happy sharing Christ, encouraging others, being outdoors, playing with his grandchildren and going to auctions. Frank was a simple humble man with a servant’s heart. He never met a stranger. He loved with a heart as big as he was. He poured himself into his church, family and community. His presence and prayers will truly be missed by many. His legacy and influence will guide multiple generations to come. Survivors include his wife, Diane Califf Folsom of Lake Sinclair; daughters, Lori (Carl) Grammatica of Eastman, Shona (David) Jonson, Tammy (Jon) Baker of Locust Grove, and Angie (Shane) Lester of Milner; a sister Marsha(John) Tweedy of Chandler, IN, and Aunt Louise Robertson (Larry) of Evansville, IN; 14 grandchildren, Jordan (Trevor) Scarbro, Payton, David, Turner, and Reagan Jonson, Devin, Grace, and Ryan Baker, Amber and Micah Lester, Chelsa and Jamie Strickland, Tony and Alex Grammatica; 2 great grandchildren, Daelyn and Silas Scarbro; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Emma Folsom, sister Linda Sickbert and brother Donnie Folsom. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested Donations to Victory Baptist Church.
