Marianne Wylly

Marianne Harden Wylly Joy, love, exuberance. These are the words to describe our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Marianne Wylly. Sadly, she lost her fight with cancer on November 30, 2024 in Macon, GA. Her family including all her grandchildren surrounded her Marianne Harden Wylly was born on October 23, 1931 in Commerce, GA to parents Louise Florence Daniel Harden and Talmadge Fulwood Harden. She grew up in Commerce, attended Virginia Intermont College and Georgia State College for Women where she earned a degree in Education. During the 1970s she was a science teacher in Brentwood, Georgia. Marianne wed the love her life, George Washington Wylly III and remained married for 57 years until his death in 2010. They lived in Tennille, GA for 23 years. They moved to Milledgeville GA in 1975 where she lived 37 years. The last twelve years of her life, Marianne lived in at Carlyle Place in Macon, GA. A huge thank you to all the staffof Harrington House. Marianne loved interacting with people and had memberships in the Daughters of the American Revolution, the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons, and the Tennille Fine Arts Club. She also enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, golfing, playing bridge, traveling, and spending time at Lake Sinclair. She had special bonds and a great love for all animals especially her dogs, Clyde I, Clyde II, Clyde III, and Prince. Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Revel Cook Wylly Pogue (Matt) of Milledgeville and Louise Daniel Wylly Middlebrooks (Eddie) of Cumming, GA; four grandchildren: Wylly Rhett Harrison of Atlanta, GA, Mariharden Hay Hogan McElheny (Clay) of Watkinsville, GA, Anna Claire Harrison Erwin (Daniel) of Cumming, GA, and Morgan Revel Hogan Holnaider (Michael) of Powder Springs, GA; and four great-grandchildren: Mariclay Harden McElheny, Luciella Grace McElheny, William (Liam) Daniel Erwin, Jr. and Annabelle Eloise Erwin. A Funeral Service for Marianne Harden Wylly will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Williams Funeral home, Milledgeville, GA. Family visitation begins at 1:00 followed by a service at 2:00.
