Sally Pratt

Mrs. Sally Ann Nearman Pratt, 86, passed away on February 1, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Milledgeville at 9:30 am, Thursday, February 12th. Sally was known for her spirituality, her sense of humor and adventure and her devotion to her family. Sally was born May 19, 1939, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Russell George Nearman and the late Elizabeth Jane Kapsen Nearman. Sally was the devoted wife of Robert Dean Pratt, whom she married in 1980. “Bob” proceeded Sally in death in September of 2025. Also proceeding Sally in death were her parents, her daughters, Kristi Hohne and Cindy Wylie and her grandson, Austin Hohne. Sally is survived by her children, Kim Richter (Keith), Lee Pratt ( Annette) and Cindi Stanesic (Matt). She was lovingly known as “Grandma Sally” to her grandchildren: Miranda Richter, Ariel Richter, Tara Richter, Darian Richter, Lauren Hohne, Andi Stanesic, Kirby Stanesic, Kendall Pratt and Autumn Wren Pratt. Sally was also blessed with great-grandchildren Cadin Kellenberger, Anari Kellenberger, and Olivia Schumacher, each of whom brought her joy and pride. Sally graduated from O’Gorman High School and then McKenna School of Nursing in South Dakota and dedicated her life to service as a Registered Nurse. She worked in mental health nursing at St. Luke Hospital and Northeast Mental Health Center. In 1980, she moved to Georgia, where she continued her nursing career working with patients and in administration. She served faithfully in these roles for 34 years, touching countless lives with compassion and professionalism. Born a cradle catholic, Sally lived out the principles of her faith on a daily basis. Sally was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a true believer, and inspired those around her to become more connected to their faith. Sally was instrumental in the Helping Hands Ministry at Sacred Heart and served as its president for many years. She was a kind person and was always thankful and appreciative for the kindness that others showed her. She also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Sally will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle humor, her unwavering strength, and her lifelong devotion to helping others. Her legacy lives on in her family, her faith community, and the many patients she cared for throughout her long nursing career. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with those who went before her, and that her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those who loved her.
